| Our Bed & Breakfast is in beautiful Tasmania - Australia's best kept secret. Live and breath the World's cleanest air and see a way of life that you thought did not exist anymore. Waterview Gardens Bed and Breakfast was established with a view to enabling Bed and Breakfast guests to share our enjoyment of the peace, tranquility and ambiance of our lovely gardens and views. The B&B overlooks the D'Entrecasteaux Channel between the mainland and North Bruny Island and is a gateway to the beautiful Huon Valley Trail and also Bruny Island itself. Wander around this beautiful part of Tasmania and see the Tahune Airwalk, Hastings Caves, thermal springs and Mt Wellington with its majestic views over Hobart and surrounds. Take the jet boat at Huonville, lunch at Peppermint Bay, see the beautiful timber, artisan and craft centre at Geeveston where some of the loveliest timber furniture is made, fish for trout and salmon at the fish farm, visit a sheep cheese farm where you can taste the wares. Call into some lovely cold area wineries and taste supurb wines of the area, see the Apple museum and buy some of their yummy treats. Finally though, spend enough time to see the Huon Valley with all the beautiful little areas within it that sometimes get missed by tourists, as these attractions do not have expensive tourist advertising, because this area is surely Paradise Found.
Only 15 minutes drive of Hobart we are in a rural part of Tasmania but well situated for access to Wineries, restaurants, and all the local attractions and those listed above.
The gardens were lovingly created by the previous owners over a 12 year period, and include a huge number and variety of roses. The gardens were, at times , part of the Open Garden Scheme. There is a wonderful selection of plants, flowers and trees as well as many pretty little nooks to sit in. We are on more than 6 acres of land, some of which are horse paddocks. Enjoy the garden and its meandering walkways, and watch the reflections of changing cloud patterns over the water.
In addition we have a sheltered deck where breakfast may be served.
Guest accommodation looks out on these views, from the bedrooms, dining room and lounge. As you would expect of a Boutique Bed and Breakfast the rooms are well appointed and have the usual tea, coffee, DVD and TV facilities and you have access to a DVD library .
For some guests the added attraction of a very friendly miniature Maltese Terrior, Fluffy, and the ever talkative Major Mitchell cockatoo, Mitch, who will woo you with his "singing" to a mini violin, is to be mentioned. The garden is home to many other bird species for your enjoyment. At night you might also hear the sounds of our nocturnal visitors, the possums.

Things To Do
|
| Visit the convict built villages which are dotted around Tasmania, visit the Wilderness areas that few people get to see. See some rare and interesting animals in the wild. Go fishing for trout in season. Eat your way around this small island state which produces some of the best food in the world. Drive and see the Penal settlement of Port Arthur and hear about its dreadful past. |

This room has a King sized bed, ensuite, balcony, TV, DVDs, lounge chairs and all the other little comforts like a fridge and tea and coffee making. It also has beautiful views over the garden, paddocks and the channel waterway. Breakfast is included in the rate. | Room Rate

| | Queen Bedded room
This too is a lovely room with views from its picture windows which look out over the garden, paddocks and Channel water. It has a seperate bathroom and with this room it also has another seperate room which can be used for another two guests in the "same" party. Therefore we can accommodate a party of 4 people who are happy use the same bathroom. The second bedroom also has views but used the TV and tea and coffee making of the Queen Room.

Directions

| Drive south from Hobart to the Channel Highway about 15 miles passing through Kingston and past the Antarctic Headquarters to the Church in Margate where you turn right and follow Van Morey Road until you see a sign saying Frosts Road - here you turn left ( whether or not the sign directs you to the right as we have some fun loving kids about) in about 200 yards you will see another sign for Frosts Road and again turn left and about 100 yards up the road is Waterview Gardens at number 59 Frosts Road, Margate.
