| Welcome to the home of Clifton Beach Retreat. A "purpose built" timber and corrugated iron house with two Bed and Breakfast rooms- the Blue Room and the Green Room.
Alix will provide you with fresh continental breakfast provisions daily, including, tropical fruits in season, juice, yoghurt,breads,crumpets or muffins,butter,jams,fresh plunger coffee or tea.
Tranquil bush and lagoon surroundings. Located within 20 minute drive from the tropical metropolis of Cairns, with its international airport, bordering the Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage Rainforest.
Clifton Beach Retreat is a (four) 4 Star AAA rated property. It is located 100 metres from the Coral Sea- a short stroll around the corner, one street back from the beach front.
The rooms are new semi self-contained air conditioned modern style - including queen size beds, bar fridge,microwave,sink,tea/coffee making facilities & ensuite with toilet and shower,hairdryer TV,DVD,CD/radio,safe, and private balcony.
We have an lovely pebbled in ground swimming pool for your enjoyment set in lush backdrop of Melaleuca(paper bark eucalyptus) which are the home of many native birds including Kookaburra, Rainbow Lorikeets, Ibis, Curlews, Honey-eaters and many more - a bird watchers haven.Next to the pool is a barbeque for your enjoyment with wok burner.
Your hosts are Alix and Perce Mayhew.
Perce is a builder of many years and has built this beautiful retreat with some unusual features -designed the rooms with high ceilings and louvre windows to allow sea breezes.
Alix- originally from Canda has been in hospitality for many years and will be more than happy to help you plan your holiday and book your tours either to the great Barrier reef, white water rafting, Kuranda Railway or Skyway, Cape Tribulation - there are so many great places to see in this lush tropical area.

Directions

| From Cairns International or Domestic airports, follow signs to Cairns until you reach Captain Cook Highway. Then proceed towards Mossman Port Douglas north through many roundabouts past Trinity Beach, then Kewarra and then Clifton Beach. Turn off highway right into Rudder street, follow B&B signs down towards beach to Batt Street, turn left, follow along to end of street and arrive at our Clifton Beach Retreat. |
