Things To Do

Galena is a small community that has a rich history. U.S. Grant lived here prior to the Civil War. He earned the rank of General and was then elected President. Galena was an important port on the Mississippi River traffic during the days of lead mining and lumbering. Much of the early architecture is still in its original condition; 85 % of Galena is on the National Register of Historic Places. Galena has a great variety of good restuarants, shops and bed and breakfasts.

Directions

This bed and breakfast is located on the east side of the Galena River. It is four blocks from Main Street restuarants and shops;two blocks from Grant Park. It is easy to reach us by turning off U.S. highway 20 onto Third Street. The Aldrich Guest House is on the corner of Third and Lafayette streets.
