Fynbos
With a floral fantasy of Fynbos on our doorstep it seemed an obvious choice to do justice to our unique display of colourful bouquets that spread throughout the Cape Peninsula.
During Spring our mountains are a tapestry of flowers, berries, birds and butterflies. Whether you enjoy a gentle amble along guided pathways or you prefer more serious hiking, the array of fynbos on our mountains is a must for any nature lover.
This room has a queen bed, the en-suite has a shower only. This is the only room without a sea view.
Room Rate
Until 30 April 2007 - R450 1 may 2007 until 30 Sep 2007 - R350 1 Oct 2007 until 30 April 2008 - R450 All these rates are per person sharing per night and include breakfast.
Island
Tropical islands have long conjured images of wishful dreams and romantic settings. Gently breaking waves lapping up on powder white sands and palm trees stretching high into pale blue skies.
These images became a reality for us when we set foot on the islands of the Comoros, Seychelles, Zanzibar and the Bazaruto archipelago. Tropical islands inspire tranquillity and peace, and a freedom to roam unpoilt beaches while leaving behind the hustle and bustle of city life.

This room has a king size bed, and a full en-suite with fanatstic views of the beach.
Room Rate
Until 30 April 2007 - R550 1May 2007 until 30 September 2007 - R450 1 October 2007 until 30 April 2008 - R700 All rates per person sharing per night and includes breakfast.
Kalahari
The Kalahari Room was inspired by our many road trips through the Northern Cape and our camping expeditions in southern Botswana and Namibia. The Trans Kalahari Highway with its wide open plains and stunning sunsets stretches not only from horizon to horizon but also delights the imagination with its warm soft colours and richly diverse plant and flower life. The Richtersveld with its rugged angular mountains and fat Konkerbooms make impressive drops to the sparkling Orange River that meanders below. The river not only splashes colour and life to this otherwise barren landscape but also serves as the life source for many travelling nomads and their goats and sheep.
This room also has a queen bed, with views of the sea. The en-suite has a large shower only.
Room Rate
Until 30 April 2007 - R480 1 May 2007 until 30 Sep 2007 - R380 1 Oct 2007 until 30 April 2008 - R500 All the above rates are per person per night sharing and include breakfast.
Safari
Our love of the wildlife and the magic of the "bush" has taken us to many of Africa's most exotic and unpoilt game parks and reserves.
Therefore African Tides would not be "home" for us if we did not include the Safari Room.
Africa affords us all the opportunity to observe and enjoy wildlife on our doorsteps.
There is no equivalent for the thrill and the smell of the bush - it evokes deep primitive urges that excite and explore all your senses.
Being up close with wildlife and spending time in the bush allows you to rediscover yourself and your roots.
In the stillness of the evenings you can watch satellites spin across the sky or wish upon shooting stars.
In our opinion, game parks and nature reserves hold the keys to experience the essence of Africa and getting a first hand look inside her heart.
This room is our Family room and has a queen bed and two single beds. The en-suite has a shower only. This room also has great sea views.
Room Rate
Until 30 April 2007 - R480 1 May 2007 until 30 Sep 2007 - R380 1 Oct 2007 until 30 April 2008 - R500All the above rates are per person sharing per night and include breakfast.

Directions

At the southern end of Fish Hoek main road the M4, you get the Fish Hoek traffic circle. Here you turn right towards Kommetjie, on the "Kommetjie Road".
Approximately 1 km from the circle you turn left into "Highway Road", where you will see our signboard.
After about 100m you will find two roads going off to the right, one after another, both called "Berg Road". You take the second one, again we have a signboard.
You follow this road straight for about 1 km, this road eventually turns into "Mountain Road", which comes to a dead end, our house is the last house on the left hand side, with a large sign.
