Lieudit Chanterane is located on the Dordogne/ Limousin border- approximately 2 km's south of the small village of Lanouaille. The property itself is situated approximately 1km from the road leading into the village of Lanouaille and the front of the house has its own woodland views, whereas the rear of the house enjoys a large terrace with views of the swimming pool, lake and distant hills/countryside. Breakfast and dinner can be taken on the terrace when the weather permits.

Things To Do

The house is conveniently located for both sight-seeing and outdoor activities whilst enjoying the breathtaking countryside and many rivers. We are a short distance from Lake Rouffiac which has forest trails and a sandy beach with safe swimming, fishing and water sports including canoeing, therefore offering activities for all the family. Other nearby outdoor activities include horse riding and hiking. We also offer complimentary mountain bikes to enable you to explore the area at your leisure. The whole area is also steeped in ancient history. Richard the Lionheart and Eleanor of Aquitaine frequently stayed over in the Chateau in Excideuil. Amongst the many other chateaux located in the area is the impressively large chateau at Hautefort which is only a further 10 minute's drive away.
