| A Stone's Throw B&B is ideal for visitors to the wide variety of attractions historical and educational in Grahamstown including, Rhodes University, Kingswood College, St Andrews College, The Diocesan School for Girls, Artificers Square, the old artisan quarter with many restored original houses which reflect a number of 1820 Settler architectural styles. The Botanical Gardens, 1820 Settlers National Monument, Fort Selwyn, Gunfire Hill, used as a lookout point for the garrison in early Grahamstown years. Albany History Museum, Selmar Schonland Herbarium, a pressed plant library. National English Literary Museum & Bookshop, Observatory Museum. The Observatory is a unique multi-storeyed 19th century Victorian shop and home which is now a museum. Visit the Egazini Memorial one of the first township based heritage sites in South Africa. The Memorial marks the event of the Battle of Grahamstown which took place in 1819. Don't forget the students "night-life" including some wonderful restaurants and viby pubs and much much more.
