| Situated in the beautiful Perigord National Park, Château de Marotte is an ideal base for exploring the Perigord Vert region and the Dordogne.
Château de Marotte was built in 1870 and is set amongst 12 acres of its own parkland and includes 2 acres of woods and a 1 acre fishing lake stocked with Carp, Roach and Trout.
The house is just on the edge of the beautiful village of Saint Saud Lacoussiere where you will find a variety of Cafes, Restaurants and the local Boulangerie and Charcuterie along with a General Store and Pharmacist. Saint Saud is also where you will find the ‘Hostellerie St Jaques’ - one of the top Restaurants in South West France!
To ensure your comfort, we provide high quality, luxurious linen, toiletries and bathrobes. Fresh fruit and bottled mineral water is supplied upon your arrival.
We offer a host of activities including fishing, golf, motoring, cycling, walking, horse riding and of course relaxing!

Things To Do

| Large bustling weekly Markets are held close by in Piegut, Thivier, St Pardoux and Nontron all offering a taste of local produce and crafts and the opportunity to mix with locals and soak up the local atmosphere.
There is an excellent choice of Restuarants in the village including Hostellerie St Jaques (one of the most famous restaurants in South West France!).
Interesting Château and a wide range of cultural activities are nearby whilst the larger centres of Perigueux, Limoges and Angouleme are all within one hours drive.
For a great day out, try wine tasting at one of the famous vineyards near Bordeaux, brandy at Cognac, explore the Dordogne Valley and River or venture as far as the coast of the Charente Maritime.
Other outdoor activities in the area include Fishing, Painting, Swimming, Horse Riding, Canoeing, Walking, Golf and Tennis.
