| Casa Portagioia is nestled in the beautiful Valle di Chio (or Valley of God as the locals refer to it) with olive groves and typical Tuscan countryside of rolling hills and green vegetation. From here you can explore the local countryside on foot or by bikes (available on site).
Our 14 meter (46’ x 23’) solar heated swimming pool with sun terraces is set on a small hillside with panoramic views of the valley and the small Tuscan hillside villages nearby.
The area: The main town is Castiglion Fiorentino, a medieval town with Etruscan heritage. From here you can visit Cortona and Arezzo which are about 15 minutes away or, within an hours drive you are able to visit many Tuscan and Umbrian towns such as Florence, Siena, Assisi, the Chianti region, Montepulciano - to name but a few. There is a train station at Castiglion with trains to Rome and Florence - although faster express trains are available from Arezzo.

Casa Portagioia offer six independent double rooms. Each room is named after a local Tuscan family; Veterini. Nocci, Grillandi, Venanzi, Castelli and Gioia. Each bedroom is tastefully furnished with its own luxury bathroom, air-conditioning in 4 rooms, independently controlled central heating and satellite television/radio. The 6 bedrooms can be arranged to provide either double or twin sleeping accommodation upon request (except Gioia) when booking. Each room offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. All windows are fitted with insect repelling nets so that windows can be left open at all times during the hot Tuscan days and warm nights. There is plenty of storage space as bedside cabinets, a chest of drawers, large wardrobe and large vanity cabinet in the bathroom..
You bedroom will have a 6' (queen size) orthopaedic double bed (except Gioia with 5' canopied bed) that can become 2 x 3' singles (except Gioia) if requested. Our bed linen is of the highest quality Egyptian cotton. Full bathroom linen is provided and replaced as required. Your room will be lightly serviced daily unless you request otherwise.
Your luxury bathroom includes a large shower cabinet (with alarm cord), bidet, dual-flush toilet and superior vanity units with high quality fittings throughout. There are safety power sockets, a shaver point and lashing of hot water of course. All bathroom linen and gowns are provided and can be replaced upon request.
